Nettleton Community Church

History Of Nettleton Community Church

A little over five years ago, First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro was asked to take on responsibilities for Nettleton United Methodist Church (now called Nettleton Community Church). The church building, located at 2310 Boydston Ave in Jonesboro, was dedicated in 1964. The faithful congregation that was Nettleton United Methodist Church was meeting even before that. Today the congregation continues to meet every Sunday for Bible study (9:45) and worship (11:00). The service is a blend of traditional UMC sacraments with modern style music and preaching.

Community Outreach

The vision of Nettleton Community Church is “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the Nettleton Community.” To this end. the campus is active in neighborhood outreach. Club INSPIRE is a Thursday night program, open to the public, where participants are fed both physically and spiritually. Food is served around 5:30 pm and there is a time for games and activities. Bible study and prayer is led by the campus pastor and volunteers come to serve from throughout the community.
